Walnut Construction Material:

An interior design firm in Arizona contacted Doggy Solutions™ to help with the design of an indoor area. Their client had hired them to create an indoor area consisting of plant material and rock that integrated a dog potty in the design. The firm asked us to design a sleek low profile potty made out of walnut to match the accents they were using in the surrounding area. We designed a custom-sized walnut unit with large trays to hold K9Grass™. To keep the look of the potty clean and sleek, we incorporated finger pulls to facilitate tray removal rather than using our standard metal tray handles.

Custom Design for Area With Drainage

An individual client in Denver had a tile patio with drainage. She had previously placed a large piece of artificial grass directly on the tile area, but because urine was trapped between the grass and the tile, the associated odor was unacceptable. Doggy Solutions™ built a shallow box frame having a perforated aluminum bottom. A large piece of K9Grass™ was cut to fit the frame and was placed directly on the perforated aluminum (i.e. no insert trays were necessary). Polyethylene feet were added to the box frame to raise it an inch or so above the tile surface. This space allowed for water flow and drainage and permitted the client to hose down the potty and clean the K9Grass™ directly in the potty frame. This design, along with the antimicrobial properties of the K9Grass™, minimized odor development in the area.

Custom Cat Litter Box

A client in San Francisco needed a litter box structure for her two cats that could hold a standard cat litter pan and be placed on her patio directly adjacent to a pet door.  She wanted her cats to have access to the potty through the door, but not to the rest of her patio.  We constructed a modified Elevated Canopy model that had the exact dimensions of the cat litter pan she intended to use.  We made the side panels out of white high-density polyethylene rather than the standard clear acrylic because the client was concerned that her cats would not like to see beyond the structure.  These side panels made the unit more similar to a conventional covered cat litter box. We also incorporated a litter guard to prevent litter from being kicked between the litter pan and the potty structure. Finally, the height of the box frame had to be adjusted to accommodate the height of the pet door.

Alternative Construction Material for Indoor Male Model Panels

The panels for our standard White and Black HDPE Indoor Male Models are made out of white and black polyethylene, respectively.  The panels and trays for our standard redwood Indoor Male units are made out of black polyethylene.  However, if a client feels that a different material will better match his decor, Doggy Solutions can modify our Indoor Male model design in the following ways.  Redwood units can be made with white rather than black panels and trays at no additional charge (see photo below). After you place your order, simply call or email us to let us know you would like white rather than black. Also, any of our Indoor Male units can be made with clear acrylic panels.  There is an additional charge when this material is requested.  The charge varies based on the size unit ordered.  Please call for a quote.  Keep in mind that the clear acrylic material is more fragile than the polyethylene material.
